Hi there 👋
RECURRING PURCHASE 📅
Refers to the periodic purchase order of Digital Assets issued by the Client.
To execute the order, Meria will debit funds from the Meria Balance or directly from the Client’s bank card.
💡 By opting for Recurring Purchase, the Client instructs Meria to purchase Digital Assets according to the frequency defined by the Client.
In practice, this is also known as “Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA)”.
BLOCKCHAIN SECURITY ACTIVITIES 🔐
Staking and Masternode activities.
DEFI AND CEFI ACTIVITIES 💸
DeFi (on decentralized exchanges: DEX) or CeFi (on centralized exchanges: CEX) activities, including the execution of crypto-asset transfer orders, on Client instructions, to make them available to various protocols (DeFi), compounders (DeFi), and centralized platforms (CeFi) (e.g., lending).
AIRDROP 🎁
The free distribution of crypto-assets by their issuers.
👉 This distribution is often subject to eligibility criteria and defined at the discretion of issuers (trading volume, minimum deposit, use of a specific service on the platform, subscription to social media accounts, newsletters, etc.).
APR 📈
APR (“Annual Percentage Rate”) corresponds to the annualized gross interest rate.
APY 🔁
APY (“Annual Percentage Yield”) corresponds to the annualized gross interest rate, including previously earned interest (compound interest), at defined intervals.
BLOCKCHAIN ⛓️
A distributed ledger technology comparable to a large public, anonymous, and tamper-proof accounting book.
This technology for storing and transmitting information is secure, transparent, and operates without a central authority. Each transaction block contains the hash derived from the previous block and is used by crypto-assets.
💡 By extension, a blockchain refers to a secure and distributed database shared among its users, containing a set of transactions whose validity can be verified by anyone.
CEX / CEFI PLATFORM 🏛️
A CEX (centralized exchange), as opposed to decentralized exchanges (DEX), is a centralized platform that offers services such as trading, buying/selling, and custody of crypto-assets.
👉 These platforms are managed by legal entities and therefore act as counterparties.
CLAIM 💰
The Claim function allows the Client to collect interest generated through various contracts (Lending or Staking).
CLIENT 👤
Any individual or legal entity, whether consumer or professional, acting on its own behalf (“Principal”), who has completed the required verification steps to purchase/subscribe to Products and/or Services on the Meria Website and is bound by this agreement.
COMPOUNDER 📊
A layer built on top of a protocol that increases returns by optimizing the use of its mechanisms (e.g., Convex, StakeDAO…).
COUNTERPARTY ↔️
Refers to a CEX or DEX through which Meria executes transactions on behalf of its Clients, including (but not limited to) receiving and transmitting their orders.
CROWDLOAN 🤝
A participatory voting (or auction) operation open to crypto-asset holders, allowing a given Parachain to win a slot granting access to a main infrastructure blockchain for a specified period.
Crypto-assets are deposited into a dedicated Smart Contract and returned:
(i) at the end of the Crowdloan if the slot is not won, or
(ii) at the end of the slot usage period by the Parachain.
👉 A Parachain may participate in multiple operations to increase its chances.
CRYPTO-ASSETS / DIGITAL ASSETS 💎
All Digital Assets as defined by the French Monetary and Financial Code and linked to blockchains.
WRAPPED CRYPTO-ASSETS 🎁
A wrapped crypto-asset is a crypto-asset linked to the value of an underlying asset and can generally be exchanged for it (this is referred to as “unwrapping”).
⚠️ It may carry a risk of de-pegging or inaccessibility relative to its underlying asset.
DEFI (DECENTRALIZED FINANCE) 🌐
Decentralized finance relies on automated protocols that provide financial services without trusted intermediaries, i.e., peer-to-peer, through blockchain and smart contracts.
Examples:
lending/borrowing
decentralized exchanges
collateralization of crypto-assets
DEX 🔄
A DEX (decentralized exchange) is a decentralized finance tool that allows trading without intermediaries, as opposed to a CEX.
CREDENTIALS 🔐
The unique username and password chosen or assigned to the Client, allowing access to their personal space on the Website.
Also includes two-factor authentication, required at a minimum to secure the account.
KYC 🆔
The “Know Your Customer” identity verification process aimed at ensuring legal compliance:
fraud prevention
anti-money laundering
counter-terrorism financing
etc.
LENDING 💵
Lending refers to crypto-asset borrowing and lending operations, both in DeFi and CeFi.
It also includes:
liquidity provision (liquidity providing/yield farming)
yield generation on deposited assets
Meria operates under a mandate for receiving and transmitting orders on digital assets (Article L54-10-2 of the French Monetary and Financial Code).
MINING ⛏️
The use of computing power to:
process transactions
secure the blockchain
synchronize users
🎯 The Client is rewarded through the distribution of new crypto-assets and validation fees.
NODE OR MASTERNODE 🖧
A node connected to a blockchain to:
validate transactions
secure the network
transmit information
💰 Reward: distribution of crypto-assets and validation fees.
PARACHAIN(S) 🚀
Secondary chains that can connect to slots of a main blockchain.
PARTIES
The Client and Meria.
PEG AND DE-PEG ⚖️
Peg: parity between an asset and its underlying (e.g., 1 stablecoin = 1 USD).
De-peg: loss of parity due to technical or economic failure (blockchain, protocol, smart contract…).
PRODUCT(S) 📦
Physical hardware (mining equipment, hardware wallets, etc.) and crypto-assets available on Meria.
DEFI PROTOCOL 🧩
A set of blockchain-based services/applications enabling:
exchanges
value transfer
operations without intermediaries
REDEMPTION 🔓
The partial or full withdrawal of a position in a crypto-asset or Meria service.
📌 Also referred to as “unstaking” or “withdrawal”.
REBALANCING ⚙️
Reallocation of funds to readjust the Client’s exposure to counterparties, protocols, or digital assets, with the objective of reducing risk.
APPLICABLE REGULATIONS 📚
Legal texts, professional standards, and regulatory obligations applicable to DASP (Digital Asset Service Providers).
SERVICE(S) 🛠️
Custody of crypto-assets
Exchange (crypto ↔ fiat or crypto ↔ crypto)
Buying / selling
Other digital asset services
WEBSITE 🖥️
The website operated by Meria.
SMART CONTRACT 🤖
An automated computer program capable of executing operations on a blockchain based on predefined conditions.
📌 Example: lending/borrowing
STABLECOIN 💱
A crypto-asset pegged to a stable asset (USD, EUR, gold…).
Parity is maintained through:
collateralization
algorithm
⚠️ De-peg risk = loss of correlation → potential capital loss.
STAKING 🪙
The commitment of digital assets in a wallet to:
validate transactions
support the blockchain (Proof of Stake)
generate rewards
📌 Meria operates under a mandate for receiving and transmitting orders (Article L54-10-2 of the French Monetary and Financial Code).
VPS 🖥️
Virtual Private Server: partitioning of a server into multiple independent virtual servers.
WALLET 👛
A digital wallet used to store crypto-assets.
WHITE PAPER 📄
A document presenting a project or crypto-asset detailing:
characteristics
structure
technologies used
benefits and risks for investors
